At E-Coach, our core
focus is to provide coaching solutions that help organizations
to improve and maintain outstanding individual performance and
achieve extraordinary results.
Create a short list with the following
three questions:
What do you like best about my team leadership?
What do you like least about it?
How could I improve the way I am leading or
facilitating this team?
E-mail this list to all the members of
your team, or give it to them at a team meeting. Ask people
to write their answers and send them to you, but not tell
you who they are. Prepare a summary of all the responses,
and share it with the group. Demonstrate your interest in
improving by telling the team what you learned from the
feedback and how you plan to improve based on it.
Idea #2
Ask around to find a team that people
say has a good leader or facilitator. Once you identify this
team, ask if you can sit in on one of its meetings to
observe the leader and/or facilitator. Since most adults
tend to learn best by watching and imitating others who have
good skills, observing an "expert" should help you
to pick up ideas for yourself that you can use with your own
team.
Idea #3
Interview several team leaders or
facilitators and ask them two key questions:
What strategy or technique do you find best for
leading and facilitating effective meetings?
How would you suggest I try to develop the same
ability or skill?
